Christmastime

Sledding with Jesus

The holidays are upon us! Repent!!
So I finally got some gifts, and traffic's a bitch. I am totally looking forward to getting some good teas for Christmas. Ugh, but that's about all I'll be able to enjoy, cause I'm having oral surgery two days after Christmas. bleh.

Hey, I made a myspace the other day, just for shits 'n giggles. Also, I'm considering starting a Chuck E. Cheese's type joint, and calling it Shits 'n Giggles. hehe, put that ratassed creep right outa business

But seriously, have a terrific religious holiday celebration. If you're not religious you can just have a terrific day.

almost christmas break

Finally got around to filling out applications for Michigan Tech. and Northern, and even signed up for Segment 2! Now if I can just get around to that poetry homework too...
weekend is cool, I think I was too stressed with homework or something during the week. Playin' Halo in Italian. mmm mm it's sweet. Not much of an appetite so I'll have to just have mac 'n cheese. meh.

Thanksgivingtime

Things are finally unbusying, though I'm worried about the marking period ending on wednesday. Better make sure I've got my shit in and my fingers crossed. I seem to be succeeding in getting extracurricular action for college apps, resumes, and personal edification. French Club tomorrow, Math Club the day after, and German Club next week - it turns out you don't have to be in german to join. Good thing, cause I don't know a word.
I look forward to Thanksgiving, and it's gonna kick all kinds of ass. mm
hey, check it out, it's Snare Rush Disco by Role Model

bleh

Man, I'm still too busy for my taste. Assignments and shit. Had an awexome time on Sunday, though. I guess it's been a long time, but we didn't make states, now that we've been having nice warm weather. I'm not too broken up, though, I've got plenty of great memories. I'd really like to start working on that water submersion idea I've been toying with, and not worry about assignments and shit. Or have like a nice break from school - not a catch-up-on-homework break or a clean-the-basement break, but a sleep-in-and-play-video-games-all-day kinda break.

I better do some work now, and then chill out. I reccommend you do the same.

I'm totally swamped lately with stuff to (which is not exactly to say that I'm busy), homework in ITA, homework in everything else, a computer to fix, my own monitor to fix, college apps to fill out, college visits to sign up for, preparing for an event at church on Sunday (I'm feeding everybody), oh and making scones tomorrow for the competition. Just a shitload of stuff.
So, tomorrow is possibly my last competition ever, but I've got my fingers crossed (not while drumming) that we'll do well enough to get to States. I would just love to play in the Silverdome again. Wednesday was the last evening rehearsal, so we did the traditional naked(boxer) runthrough, and holy shit it was cold.
mmm I look forward to tea and fresh warm chocolate chip scones tomorrow
I'm listening to Interpol - Evil, as I get back to the bratwurst I forgot about.

we broke 60!

Damn, I keep forgetting about this thing. Well homecoming was pretty sweet, and quite some time ago, now. I really should have pictures of some of this stuff, like I don't even have a picture of myself on here (I could make that a sweet background for all three monitors). Also, I never got that cadence quite right, but it's the closest I've gotten in three years, so I'm satisfied. We're out of excuses to stay inside now, so I spend every day retuning my timpani (to find them detuned the next day), whilst freezing my balls off. I really wish marching band didn't end in a week, though. Speaking of which, we scored 62 last night! We have some sort of chance at states now, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

heyhey

Well, I meant to post sooner, but oh well.
Anyway, Solderfest '05 was a huge success:

we got that thing cruising at about 1.3GHz, and stuffed it with a 256 DIMM of RAM, and some backlighting. It's running TI-Linux and plays DVD's.
Ok - some or all of that information may be somewhat exaggerated or opposite of truth. It took me mere minutes to lose one of the pad under the original capacitor, and it took the rest of the night to get over the denial of having no hope whatsoever to make it work. Oh, and in answer to the questions raised by the last post: they never used the red-hot catalytic butane inferno that is my soldering iron, but both Gary and Ben managed to burn themselves on the delicious Jalepeno&Cheddar poppers. I was unscathed.

Also, I'm going to Homecoming, I guess. It's hard to believe that it's senior year already, but it is, and I said I'd go, so let's just hope they play plenty of hip-hop and swing music.

I'm excited about spending the week working the cadence rather than the show (staying inside rather than freezing outside while moving heavy instruments baaaack and fooorth. Also, it's a cool cadence, and it'd be sweet if we could play it.

good a time as any

Hay! Just when you thought this blog couldn't get any sweeter... it does.
Introducing: Post Number Two! Here's another exciting tidbit - Rogue Club will be hosting its first ever Solderfest '05 on Sunday. Can we overclock Ben's TI-83? Will anyone escape without third-degree burns? the answers may surprise you. stay tuned for the outcome (which will also be covered at TORCB. I won't be calling it that again, I think.
School's going pretty nicely, it seems. Poetry and French (admittedly my easiest classes) are yielding A's, and Accounting and Band should be pretty similar. Pre-Calc and ITA can't bring that down too much. Gonna learn C++ soon. gonna be codin n hackin n shit all over the place.
In much shittier news, I learned yesterday that I have a fukered jaw and I need braces as well as an "expander". ow. My parents don't like the 6,400 dollar price tag much, and I don't like anything about it much, but we'll see how it goes.
